Our Vision

The population health initiative will support and foster research and education to advance population health through team-science to address social determinants of health and promote healthy living, longevity, and quality of life for all.

Our Mission

FIU-PHI will bring together the University’s community and external partners in a collaborative interdisciplinary, transnational approach to enhance and expand FIU’s capacity to improve the health of local, national, and global populations and address factors impacting the health of individuals and communities, such as poverty, health care access, environmental, and governance and policy.

Senior Faculty Fellows

Senior Faculty Fellows

Collaborating closely with the PHI Director, our Senior Faculty Fellows actively contribute to the implementation and establishment of the Population Health Initiative. The Senior Faculty Fellows will work alongside the Director to integrate FIU investigators and enhance the population health research portfolio. The Senior Faculty Fellows will spearhead the development of innovative team-based science projects and programs connecting faculty from their respective colleges to the Population Health Initiative.

Executive Council

The Executive Council (EC) oversees the internal functions of the Population Health Initiative. Their role is to plan the execution of our mission, which emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, engagement with external stakeholders, and the long-term sustainability of the initiative.

External Advisory Board

The external advisory board (EAB) serves to keep the initiative focused on population health priority areas. EAB will assist with donor identification & fundraising. The committee is currently in the process of being formed.
